Don Lucas

Founder of the St. Anne's Rosary Makers group back in 2005, Don began the St. Anne's Rosary Group with only three other members. Since then, he distributed hundreds of thousands of Rosaries to Catholic schools within the US, and even overseas. Don also handled the finances, supplies, and distribution of Rosaries until his passing in January 2024.

Bonnie Zeiszler

"I don’t make rosaries anymore because my hands shake to much.  I started making rosaries in 2014 when I retired. I tried making about 100 every two months.  I quit 2 years ago.  I taught classes with Don on how to make rosaries and tie knots.  I loved being able to make rosaries and know that there were that many more people that would be praying the rosary for this world."

Sarah German

"I started making rosaries in early 2022, though I lost track of how many I've made. I love arts and crafts, and enjoy being able to use my crafty skills for a good cause. When Don passed away, I started emailing schools and asking them if they wanted rosaries for their students to help them grow in their faith. I am also in charge of this website."

Joey Erhardt

Joey is from New Salem, ND, and has been a member of St. Anne's Rosary Makers since 2013. She and her sister Arlene made rosaries for their home parish until Arlene’s passing. When Joey saw the Dakota Catholic Action article about St. Anne's Rosary Makers, she called and joined the group. She has never kept count of the rosaries she made, but it has to be well over 5000 rosaries. The reason she makes rosaries is to get more people saying the rosary, and because she enjoys bead work.

Verna Chorne

Verna started making rosaries for St. Anne's Rosary Makers in 2013 with Ellen Hochhalter and Edith Barth. At that time, they would get together once a month in the church basement and make rosaries there. She figures she’s made at least 1500 rosaries. Her reasons for making rosaries are for love of Our Lady and the spread of the rosary.

Evelyn Greisch

"[I have been making rosaries for St. Anne's Rosary Makers] since September 2021. I saw Don's offer to teach how to make rosaries. [The] class [was] free, supplies [were] free. Something I’d always wanted for free! It was a class of one, me since I lived out of town. This was the start of a friendship with a very gentle, gentleman, [Don], devoted totally to the BVM and his late wife. He did everything and took credit for nothing. He was so proud of what all the volunteers were doing. I feel we are munitions supply of the BVM. We are not at the front lines.  But we arm those there. St. Don Bosco in a dream saw a boat going thru two pillars. Above one the Eucharist above the other  Mary. All our rosaries have the miraculous medal. Even if they don’t say the rosary, just by carrying it they are under the protection of the blessed Virgin and she can do the rest. We are Mary's munitions supply. I’ve made 5000 plus [rosaries], so I know other's counts are a bit low.

Wayne Klemisch

"I have only been making roseries for about 15 months. I started because I wanted to do something for the church. I am limited in what I can do, so I thought this would be something I would be good at. My wife helps me with the right color matches and I really enjoy making them. As of today, I have only made about 900. I guess I'm old school and just like to keep busy. I'm retired, married coming up on our 50th [anniversary], and have raised 3 great children. Just loving being with the grandchildren."
